Jana W. Yeates is the founder and co-owner of Employment Enterprises, Inc., the parent company for Temporary Solutions, Inc. and Checks and Balances, Inc., a Professional Employer Organization. The three companies have grown from an initial investment of $10,000 to annual revenues of over $60 million. Temporary Solutions, Inc. was named to the INC. 500 list of fastest-growing privately held businesses in the United States, 1985-88.
Ms. Yeates was named Entrepreneur of the Year by Inc. Magazine and Ernst & Young, and was inducted into the "Entrepreneur Hall of Fame" at the University of North Carolina. Temporary Solutions, Inc. consistently ranks on the Washington Business Journal's lists of Top 50 Women-Owned Businesses and Top 25 Temporary Employment Services in the Washington Metropolitan region.
Ms. Yeates has been involved in employment-related issues at the State level. She served on Governor Wilder's Small Business Advisory Board and was chairperson of the Quality Workforce Committee which helped produce the Workforce 2000 report for the Commonwealth of Virginia. She is a Charter Member of the Labor Management Relations Committee of the Virginia Employer's Association.
